Terms and conditions
This is an English translation of our Spanish terms and conditions. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
These terms govern the use of the web.cr site and the hiring of WEB.CR's services, a service of PuraVidaTech S.A. (corporate ID 3-101-721969), a Costa Rican company domiciled in Guachipelín, San Rafael de Escazú, San José. By using the site, placing an order, paying a deposit or booking an appointment, you accept these terms, the deposit and cancellation policy and the privacy policy.
1. Our services
WEB.CR offers design and development of websites, online stores and custom platforms, plus domains, hosting and maintenance, search engine optimization (SEO), content creation, logo and banner design, social media management and ad management.
2. Information and prices
2.1. The information on the site, including the blog articles, is for guidance and doesn't replace advice for your specific case.
2.2. The calculator's prices are in Costa Rican colones and don't include VAT (13%), which is added to the total and appears on your quote and your electronic invoice. PayPal payments are charged in US dollars at the Central Bank of Costa Rica's selling rate on the day of payment.
2.3. The calculator's quote is an estimate valid for 15 calendar days. The final scope of each project (pages, features, languages and deliverables) is that of the written proposal we send you before starting; anything not in it is quoted separately.
2.4. Custom platforms have a "from" price that's confirmed after a meeting and aren't paid online. Other services show a "from" price in the calculator: the deposit is calculated on that starting price and the final price is confirmed in the written proposal before work begins, under the deposit and cancellation policy. Services marked "quoted" have no price in the calculator and are quoted in the meeting.
3. Orders and payments
3.1. To book a project you pay a 50% deposit of the total including VAT, by card (Tilopay), PayPal or SINPE Móvil. The 50% balance is paid when you approve the finished work and before the site is published or the final files are delivered.
3.2. You can cancel at no cost within 8 days of paying the deposit, under the right of withdrawal in article 40 of Law 7472. The full conditions on refunds, cancellation, pauses and third-party costs are in the deposit and cancellation policy.
3.3. An order is confirmed when the payment is verified by the payment provider or, for SINPE Móvil, by us. We send you the confirmation by email, with the payment method.
3.4. Monthly services (hosting, maintenance, content plans) are paid in advance each month and can be cancelled with notice before the next period.
4. Your responsibilities
4.1. Delivering on time the text, photos, logos, access and approvals the project requires. Delivery dates depend on that information.
4.2. Guaranteeing that you have the right to use the material you give us (text, images, trademarks) and that your content and your activity comply with the law.
4.3. Reviewing the work at each stage and telling us about changes within the included rounds of revisions.
5. Our responsibilities
5.1. Doing the work with professional care, according to the approved proposal.
5.2. Keeping you informed of progress and of any change to the timeline.
5.3. Fixing at no cost any functional errors in the delivered work that you report to us within 30 days of launch.
5.4. Keeping your business information confidential.
6. Ownership
6.1. The domain is registered in your business's name.
6.2. The design, text and code made for you become yours once the project is paid in full. Until then, WEB.CR retains the rights to unpaid work.
6.3. The tools, components and general know-how WEB.CR uses across many projects remain WEB.CR's; you receive the right to use them within your site without time limit.
6.4. We may show the finished project in our portfolio, unless you ask us in writing not to.
6.5. The content of web.cr (text, design, logos and images) belongs to WEB.CR or its licensors and may not be copied without authorization.
7. Bookings
Meetings booked on the site are free and by video call. You can reschedule or cancel from the link in your confirmation email, up until the meeting starts.
8. Results and limitations
8.1. Nobody can guarantee positions on Google or a number of sales or leads; they also depend on the competition, the market and factors we don't control. We do commit to doing the agreed work well and to measuring the results with you.
8.2. We work to keep the site available and free of errors, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. Third-party services (payment gateways, hosting, Google, social networks) have their own terms.
8.3. To the extent the law allows, our liability for a project is limited to the amount paid for that project. Nothing in these terms limits the rights Law 7472 grants you as a consumer.
9. Third-party links
The site links to third-party sites. We aren't responsible for their content or their policies.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is the one published here, with its date. Projects in progress are governed by the terms in force when the deposit was paid.
11. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. If you have any complaint, write to us: we aim to resolve it in writing within 5 business days at most.
