Privacy policy

This is an English translation of our Spanish privacy policy. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use web.cr, what we use it for, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights under Costa Rica's Law 8968 on the Protection of Persons regarding the Processing of their Personal Data.

1. Who is responsible for your data

WEB.CR is a service of PuraVidaTech S.A. (corporate ID 3-101-721969), a Costa Rican company domiciled in Guachipelín, San Rafael de Escazú, San José, Costa Rica. For any question about your data, use the contact form or message us on WhatsApp at +506 8888-8101.

2. What data we collect and why

Contact form

When you leave your details in the site's form we collect: name, WhatsApp, email, the type of service you need and, if you provide them, your business name and the domain you're interested in (with the result of the availability check). We use them to reply to your request and send you a proposal.

Orders and payments

When you place an order we collect: name, email, phone, the options in your quote, the amounts and the payment method. We use them to process your order, confirm the payment, issue the electronic invoice and communicate with you about your project.

We don't see or store your card details. Card payments are made on Tilopay's secure page; PayPal payments, on PayPal's site; SINPE Móvil payments, from your bank's app. From those providers we only receive the payment confirmation (reference number, amount and status) and, for PayPal, the amount in dollars and the exchange rate applied.

Bookings

When you book a meeting we collect: name, email, WhatsApp, the topic you indicate and the date and time chosen. We use them to create the appointment in our calendar, generate the video call link, send you the invitation and reminders, and let you reschedule or cancel it.

Where your visit came from

If you arrive at the site from an ad or a campaign, we store the click identifier (for example, Google Ads') and the campaign details together with your form, order or booking. We use them to know which ads generate leads and not invest in those that don't work. So they aren't lost between pages, the site keeps them in your browser's local storage for 90 days; you can delete them at any time from your browser settings.

Security and abuse prevention

To prevent automated submissions and abuse, we store an anonymous fingerprint of your IP address (hashed so it can't be turned back into the original address) and, on the contact form, the browser type. This lets us limit repeated submissions from the same source.

Site statistics

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tools to understand how the site is used (pages visited, time, device, approximate country) and to measure the results of our ads. These tools use cookies or similar technologies. You can limit them from your browser settings or with Google's opt-out tools.

3. Our basis for using your data

We use your data because you give it to us so we can reply to you, handle an order or book an appointment (consent and a pre-contractual or contractual relationship), and where the law requires it, for example for electronic invoicing and tax obligations. We don't use your data to send you advertising without your consent.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your data. We only share it with the providers we need to serve you, each for its own function:

  • Site hosting and email: our server provider, where the data is stored and from which emails are sent.
  • Payments: Tilopay, PayPal and your bank, to process the payment you choose.
  • Bookings: Google (Google Calendar and Google Meet), where the event is created with your email as a guest.
  • Measurement: Google (Analytics and Ads).
  • Authorities, when a law or a court order requires it.

Some of these providers process data on servers outside Costa Rica, with their own security measures.

5. How long we keep it

  • Contact requests that don't become a project: up to 2 years, to follow up on your inquiry.
  • Orders, payments and invoices: as long as Costa Rica's tax and accounting rules require.
  • Bookings: up to 2 years after the meeting date.
  • Backups: renewed periodically, with the oldest deleted.

After those periods, we delete the data or make it anonymous.

6. How we protect it

The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The data is stored in a database with restricted access, the admin area is password protected and we make backups. No system is infallible, but we apply reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss or alteration.

7. Your rights

Under Law 8968, you can at any time:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct any that is incomplete or wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it, except what we must keep by law (for example, invoicing).
  • Withdraw your consent for uses that depend on it.

Write to us through the contact form or on WhatsApp saying what you need; we reply within 5 business days at most. If you believe we didn't handle your request, you can turn to Costa Rica's Agency for the Protection of Inhabitants' Data (PRODHAB).

8. Minors

The site is aimed at businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Links to other sites

The site links to third-party sites (for example, WhatsApp, Google or our portfolio clients). Each has its own privacy policy.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll publish the new version here with its updated date. If the change is significant, we'll notify clients with active projects by email.
